How I end up Leading MCR!
I spent the first 18 years of my life in Pakistan before making the big leap to the UK in 2021. From day one, I was on the hunt for opportunities, eager to gain some real word experience—and maybe a little cash along the way.
My first year was a bit of a struggle on the job front, so I ended up working in McDonald’s. Picture me flipping burgers and thinking, “There’s got to be more to life than this!” Just when I was about to sign yet another burger-flipping contract, an email landed in my inbox: “Would you like to Lead MCR?”
I thought, “Why not? It’s got to be better than my McDonald’s gig!” So, I whipped up a manifesto and threw my hat in the ring. My predecessor, who is absolutely amazing, was set to run again but then decided to withdraw her application.
That felt like a sign — it was as if the universe was saying, “You were meant to LEAD MCR!”
Magic Right?
